Job Description
This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day health, wellness, and medical processes for all patients undergoing treatment for chemical dependency at Valiant Living detox and assessment center. Participates in intake processes, medication administration and management, vitals and conditions monitoring, first aid and ongoing health oversight, training, and infectious disease prevention, discharge and medical case management. Will be assigned responsibilities and activities by the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Conduct prescreens for medical necessity for detox.
- Collaborate with providers with prescreens.
- Complete initial nursing assessment upon intake for all new clients to assess and communicate suitability for care
- Schedule and complete nursing follow-up appointments
- Document nursing assessments and reports, medical information, and prescription information/changes
- Conduct, assess and document initial infectious conditions screen and interview, pregnancy testing, initial blood draw and laboratory order
- Communicate with Director of Nursing, physician, and clinical team regarding client presentations/conditions
- Conduct baseline blood draws for incoming clients
- Coordinate lab work and post results to EMR. Provide results to clinical and medical staff
- Assist to coordinate medical appointments, both routine and emergency, and associated transportation
- Provide feedback from external appointments to Director of Nursing, clinical, and medical staff
- Adhere to standing orders/approval from MD and systems addressing vitals and protocols
- Maintain current knowledge and adherence to specific OBH and Joint Commission guidelines as it pertains to nursing standards, time limits, etc.
- Assist with urine tests and breathalyzer testing, chain of custody, and documentation
- Maintain professional relationship with VL contracted physicians. Consult as guided by credentialing guidelines and Valiant Living procedure
- Be available to consult with Director of Nursing, on-call clinician, and directors regarding PM/weekend admissions, medication questions, elevated vitals, emergent conditions, etc.
- Assist to coordinate medication refills
- Maintain all nursing certification and administer medications to clients
- May travel to other sites to check in, complete drug testing, participate in medication audits and documentation, elicit substance destruction, and consult
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, providing wellness/health information and updates
- Provide day-to-day consultation to clinical and recovery technician staff
- Provide first aid and health assessment for emergent conditions experienced by clients
- May assist to provide influenza vaccinations and TB tests to clients and staff
- Assist to organize and maintain inventory of first aid, medication, and medical supplies.
- Maintain minimum charting compliance.
- Assist in implementation of new policies and procedures initiated by clinical or medical teams.
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management, clinicians, and nurse director including medication refills.
Skills, knowledge, and experience required:
- Assist to monitor infectious disease prevention program for staff and clients
- Participate in bi-annual infectious disease prevention training of staff
- Present to BHT and other staff periodic training in vitals, COWS, CIWAS, universal precautions, medication administration, and other topics
- May participate in weekly/monthly/periodic:
- Medical/nursing chart review/audit
- COWS/CIWAS audits
- Medication log review/audit for medication errors
- Count/audit on current medications
- Medication disposal
- Consult with nutritionist regarding client-specific needs, contraindications, and potential medication interactions
- Assist to provide guidance to CNA/BHT staff (regarding medical and health operations only).
Travel between sites may be required during the work day. On-call or overnight work assignments may be required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Experience: 1 – 3 years at the LPN level
- Licensure/Certification: LPN required.
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred: experience with chemical dependency treatment facilities and/or detox, addictions, and mental health populations
- Residential and milieu experience preferred
- First Aid/CPR certifications
- Naloxone training (can be provided as in-service)
- Prohibitions: use of illicit substances (including THC) during employment

Job Description
We are looking for skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide essential care and support to our patients. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Will be assigned responsibilities and activities by the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Provide patient care under the direction of the nursing staff.
- Build strong rapport with patients and co-workers.
- Take, record and assess patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Passing medications to patients
- Monitoring and documenting patient food and fluid intake to ensuring proper nutrition

Position Summary
The Manager of Hospitality at Valiant Living plays a critical role in ensuring that our addiction and mental health recovery facility is not only a place of healing but also one that embodies safety, cleanliness, and compassion. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of housing, hospitality, and logistics, ensuring that the physical environment supports the well-being and recovery of our clients. This includes managing budgets, maintaining properties, coordinating with various departments, and leading a dedicated team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operational/Housing:
- Financial Management: Regulate and optimize expenses, oversee the tracking of receipts, and manage budgets for groceries, vehicle expenses, and other operational costs, including those of the Assistant Director of Housing.
- Documentation: Complete and optimize documentation for housing, including checklists, safety procedures, shift notes, and incident reports.
- Vendor & Property Management: Manage relationships with property management companies, homeowners, and contractors, ensuring properties are maintained to high standards.
- Property Oversight: Oversee all Valiant Housing properties, participate in property searches for upgrades and consolidation, and coordinate property setup and maintenance.
- Staff & Schedule Management: Plan and implement schedules, approve staff hours for payroll, and manage supply orders to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Clinical:
- Client Care & Safety: Oversee all aspects of PHP and IOP logistics and operations, including client care, safety protocols, and medication compliance.
- Crisis Management: Work closely with the Clinical Director & Therapists and/or on-call clinical staff to manage crisis and relapse situations, write incident reports, and collaborate with leadership on policy revisions.
- Coordination with Clinical Team: Work closely with the Clinical Team to execute effective treatment plan goals regarding housing, and coordinate new client intakes with Admissions.
Case Management:
- Transportation & Meeting Coordination: Manage client transportation needs and 12-step meeting schedules.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure proper and compliant drug testing of clients and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation.
Wellness/Experiential:
- Event Logistics: Flexibly assist with overnights, weekends, and special activities as needed. Coordinate with the Director of Wellness and Hospitality to plan, organize, and oversee all logistics related to special events, workshops, and retreats.
- Support Wellness Programs: Assist the Director of Wellness & Hospitality on nutrition-related programs and other wellness initiatives.

Hospitality:
- Client Experience: Ensure quality client care at all houses, maintain property safety, cleanliness, and adherence to policies. Coordinate with the Director of Wellness & Hospitality and other department heads to strategically implement plans for a positive client experience.
- Relationship Management: Maintain excellent relationships with outside entities, including families, referral agencies, and community resources.
- SOP Updates: Coordinate with the Director of Wellness & Hospitality, Director of Operations, and Director of Clinical to update standard operating procedures within housing.
Leadership:
- Team Management: Manage a staff of up to 8 people, including Recovery Techs, House Leaders, and contractors. Oversee staff training, development, performance, and scheduling.
- Performance Management: Conduct employee performance reviews, handle disciplinary actions, and support the recruitment and training of new staff.
- Cultural Competence: Foster a non-judgmental, compassionate attitude within the team, promoting Valiant Values such as accountability and trust.

Recovery House Technician
At Valiant Living, we strive to provide care to our clients that’ll change lives. As a Recovery House Technician, your job is to help provide a safe and structured environment for all program participants by being readily available to serve and assist them with any additional activities that will aid in their recovery.

- Observes and documents client compliance with medication regimes dictated in the treatment plan; assists the clinical staff in meeting and monitoring the client’s medical and health care needs.

- Complete necessary documentation, timely entries into the records, and maintaining compliance with overall documentation.
- Support the Case Manager during any team meetings discussing progress, regress and/or failure; contribute to planning for the program completion, follow-up support and communication with the treatment program.
- Conduct client reviews and current status with the client’s treatment program.
- Support recruitment of competent and trained staff.
- Assist with transporting clients.
- Participate on committees and in professional meetings and staffing as necessary
Skills Required
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Understands how to implement behavioral management techniques
- Familiar with basic safety and rescue procedures relative to outdoor activities
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain good public relation
- Ability to regulate emotions and present as stable
- Valid driver’s license
Schedule: M, T, W, Th, 2pm – 10 pm, potential Saturday 2-pm – 10pm (can be discussed in interview process).

Recovery House Technician
At Valiant Living, we strive to provide care to our clients that’ll change lives. As a Recovery House Technician, your job is to help provide a safe and structured environment for all program participants by being readily available to serve and assist them with any additional activities that will aid in their recovery.
Essential Functions/Duties:
- Observes and documents client compliance with medication regimes dictated in the treatment plan; assists the clinical staff in meeting and monitoring the client’s medical and health care needs.
- Assists in implementation of program schedule.
- Assist in census/milieu management, admissions, discharges.
- Monitor/observe Urinalysis or Breathalyzer tests as needed and document appropriately.
- Communicates to the clinical team observing behavioral changes or signs of distress in clients.
